Time Travel - Beatrice Eveland

Listen to my latest song below

"Time Travel" was written the morning of the shootings in Las Vegas and was conceived as I contemplated the loss, hurt, and suffering which has resulted from tragedies in our world. Although this song could have emerged as a dark, heavy piece, it instead revealed itself as a song of hope for humanity in the face of these challenging times. Lyrics are in the column on the right, in case you want to read them. This song was produced by Caleb Schoberg at Hoosier Surf Studios in Battleground, Indiana, Thank you, Caleb, for your support, vision, hard work, and incredible guitar contributions. Thanks also to Scott and Vickie for allowing me to work at their studio, and special thanks to Isaac Vining for lending his talents on drums, Ron Kadish for his beautiful work on the upright bass, Nicky Kerr for her lovely background vocals, and Michael Kelsey for mastering. I am ever grateful to you all!

TIME TRAVEL

by Beatrice Eveland c 2018

Look at the world we live in. Beauty surrounds us, yet many are broken. Always humanity cries; still we press on with slightly closed eyes. Why is is so hard to choose to see, then make good what we do?

If I could time travel I'd fix what's unraveled. I'd gather the scattered and sew them in place. Then I'd spend time mending each ripped, worn-out ending till hearts never broke, and Heaven and earth were one space.

Look at our past; have we learned? Pushing and pulling means peace won't be earned. Why is it so hard to choose?

If I could time travel I'd fix what's unraveled. I'd gather the scattered and sew them in place. Then I'd spend time mending each ripped, worn-out ending till hearts never broke and Heaven's on earth.

Changing the past can't be done, so why am I wishing to raise a set sun? Sure, no one's mastered time flight, but now is here and gone at the speed of light.

Though I can't time travel I can fix what's unraveled. I'll gather the shattered and help them replace. Come join me in mending each ripped, worn-out ending till hearts are unbroken cuz Heaven's on earth. No heart will stay broken when Heaven and earth are one space.
