ABOUT THE CD:

"Twelve Shades of Me" is the first CD released by Beatrice Eveland. It is comprised of twelve original tracks and was recorded with highly respected and acclaimed guitarist, songwriter, and producer Michael Kelsey at Kelsey's Playground in Lafayette, Indiana, with multi-talented producer and musician Rick Watson at Bear Tracks Recording Studio in Valparaiso, Indiana, and with exceptional folk musician and producer Michael Lewis at Middle Earth Recording Studio in Lafayette, Indiana. Beatrice's voice has been compared to those of Carly Simon and Karen Carpenter, and her songwriting is comprised of well-crafted, memorable melodies, interesting, rich harmonies, and thoughtful, poetic lyrics.

A NOTE FROM THE ARTIST:

I’m often asked what kind of music I write, and I find it hard to answer this question. I actually write whatever music comes into my mind, and I can say, without hesitation, that it will never fall into any one particular genre. I write adult contemporary music, country music, pop music, and songs that could be used in Disney movies. I write piano solos, contemporary religious music, Celtic music, hymns, and lullabies.

 

Whatever the style of music I may be writing, I always try to make sure I craft the lyrics in a colorful and original way. I am a poet as well as a lyricist, and my lyrics reflect this. Interesting harmonic progressions move me as well, and I often use chords that are not necessarily expected or traditional. Perhaps that’s because Chopin has a piece of my heart…and my brain.
